Driving in CA

Why do people insist on driving in the R lane on interstates for miles and miles while the middle and L lanes remain virtually empty?

Granted, if you're just getting on or getting off at the next exit, get in the R lane. However, when you're driving past multiple exits, do it from the middle or L lanes. Almost everyday on my commute I'm confronted by people happily driving along in the R lane and oblivious to the fact that other people are entering and exiting the freeway around them. Its incredibly annoying to drive parallel to someone who has 3 empty lanes to their L but has no intention of moving over so you can get on the freeway. Its also hard to realize how they don't experience this from the other perspective and not change their behavior the next time.

Bottomline: you're not the only person on the highway so wake up and get out of the way. You'll appreciate it when you're the other driver.
